- If you are self-employed, your tax is up to you, not your employer.
- If you are under 15 years the first $2,340 earned in one financial year (1 April to 30 March) for one off jobs is tax-free.
- If you are aged between 15 and 17 years the first $2,340 earned in one financial year (1 April to 30 March) for one off jobs is tax-free as long as you have attended school the same financial year.
- The current minimum wage for starting out workers in NZ is $13.20 an hour before tax
